So i made a thread a week ago and still have not gotten a response so im making this new one in attempt to get a awnser. to make a story short,power went out,got the red ring of death,switched old xbox with xbox slim(still using componant cables from last xbox because slim dosnt come with any) and when i try to record i get a message saying the usb isnt reconized. my question is did my roxio get fried with the xbox or is it just the usb cord?

With the RGC USB device plugged into a USB 2.0 port do these two Roxio entries show in the same place in your device manager?

when i unplug the roixo from my computer the unreconized goes away.

Does this mean when you plug the USB in, you see the 2 devices that I have shown in the picture?.

No i get *unknown device* and when i unplug it the *unknown device* goes away. is it the capture card or the usb?

Try this:

 

Unplug the USB Device from the PC and reboot the PC.

 

When the PC is up and running place the installation disc in a drive and run repair when it's offered. When it's finished reboot the PC.

 

When the PC is up and running open device manager and plugin the Roxio USB Device and tell us what shows for drivers under sound game and video controllers?
