Multiborder Error

trek1701

Question

Hi, first time poster to this site. My problem is continuing to burn a previous open multisession dvd with Roxio Creator 2011 pro on window 7. Upon placing the dvd in the drive roxio cames back with "Multiborder Data Appendable this disc cannot be used for this project." Tried other previous burned multisession dvds and get the same message. Now I know that it has to be a problem with Creator as I have this computer as a dual boot windows 7 & xp. Now on the xp os I have Nero Express Essentials installed that came with one of my dvd burner's. and it has no problem in burning added files to the same dvds that I tried burning with roxio. Even the multisession dvd that was never even burned with nero, only roxio.

Thanks ahead of time for those who have any suggestions.

"Multiborder Data Appendable this disc cannot be used for this project."

What application in Creator 2012 are you using, and what kind of a project are you trying to append to it this time? It sounds as if you're trying to append a full-disc type project to a partly-used disc, or at least that's what the software thinks you're trying to do.

If you're trying to append data files to an open data disc with 'Burn Data Disc', try it with Creator Classic instead [and vice-versa] since they're very different programs.

I was burning data discs. The error was from DVD+RDL dvds. No trouble with these discs using Nero which I have on xp. It's Roxio in windows 7 that is giving me problems. I have no problem doing the same project with Nero but it won't work with Roxio Creator 2011 Pro. Had no trouble burning data to a cd-rw multisession disc with Creator today. Just seems to be dvd dual layer & a dvd-r that Creator has trouble with that Nero doesn't. When dvd discs were originally blank Creator had no trouble.

Update looks like Classic data burn will work. It had no trouble importing the previous sessions. The standard data burn of Creator wouldn't do that despite appended option being checked.

Thanks a lot.

'Burn Data Disc' from the main menu application is a very 'simplified' Sonic module, compared with the Roxio-made Creator Classic.

IMHO is is much too simplified.

I'm glad I could point you in the right direction.
