So, I just set up my RGC today, and am having issues getting the VideoWave software to work correctly. At first, VideoWave won't load correctly, it just says it has "stopped working". I checked with the windows action center, and it said there was a DivX error, so I chose to download the newest DivX software. After installing this VideoWave will remain open.
I figured I solved the problem, and so I started doing some test captures with the capturing device. I recorded in AVI first, and tried to edit it in VideoWave but it displays a big red circle in place of the image preview and says it cannot open the file. So I tried recording again in divx but get the same problem. It WILL record in wmv, but the quality is too poor for my taste.
I found a few topics in this forum saying that they have had the same problem and when they uninstalled the new divx software it worked. I have found that uninstalling the divx software will allow the divx and avi files to show up correctly in VideoWave for the few seconds it remains open, but it then breaks and I get the original "stopped working" error.
I have downloaded several codecs including k-lite to attempt to fix this issue, but have seen nothing work. Does anyone have any ideas about this?
