Happily Going Along...

wstephens

Question

I've been happily using Creator 2010 until (due to an unrelated investigation) I discovered all this background activity from CinemanowSvc.exe, VxBlockServer.exe, and RoxioBurnLauncher.exe.

Is there a way to eliminate all this disk activity?

Does the Creator 2012 version have all this constant disk activity as well?

Thanks for any help.

How much background activity? Constant. Both CinemanowSvc.exe and VxBlockServer.exe are constantly accessing / checking registry keys and a couple of file locations.

There is a tool that I got from Microsoft called Process Monitor that shows everything going on.

> Both are 32-bit, is your installation 64-bit, wstephens?

I have Windows 7 and installed Creator 2010 with the defaults, so whatever result that would create.

The real issue is that my system has decided not to sleep anymore (after my 2 hour inactivity setting), which I don't think is Roxio related, but that was what started me on this 'what is running?' examination.

Brendon asked if your Operating System is x32 or x64 bit!

Right click my computer and click properties. What does yours say?
