tj1371
Yeah, I'm having problems with support because I can't figure out how to contact these people with a problem. so I've come here to try and get some help. My PC is constantly trying to install Roxio Media Manager. I've never tried to install it and don't even know what it is much less tried to use it. Anyway, about 3 days ago, suddenly on starting the computer, this #$^@ program keeps trying to install. It gets about 3/4 of the way through, then then says put in an installation disk...which I don't have naturally since I don't have or want this program. However, every time I click on the cancel button to stop the install, it just bogs down my computer and finally goes away. But, it comes back 2 minutes later and tries to install...again..and again..and again. ROXIO..HELP...or I'll never buy another one of your products. There is no uninstall program anywhere that I can find for this product. Not in the Roxio folder in my C drive, or in the Windows add/install control panel. Please..somebody help before I go postal. I want my computer back to normal.

sknis
tj, what Roxio/Corel product do you have? Did you buy a product or did it come on your computer as an OEM? Media Manager is a file cataloging service that comes with program such as Creator. It is integral with the program. Go to the Internet and download the free trial of Revo Uninstaller PRO. Run it. It should uninstall programs that are partially installed. Go to the top of this page and click on support. Use the drop down to contact Roxio. You will have to enter a trouble ticket. If you want to talk to them, there is a charge. If a Roxio/Corel program came as an OEM on your computer, you can get free support from the computer manufacturer and don't let them tell you otherwise ! Let us know the answers on what program and if anything above works for you. (Please - unlike the other posters in this thread)
tj1371
Thanks for the reply. I'll give that Revo program a try later today after work. I don't have a Roxio/Corel program that I'm aware of. Years ago, I had a Roxio CD/DVD burning program but no longer. The program that keeps trying to install is Roxio Media Manager. I don't have it, I didn't buy it, and it's not part of anything downloaded onto the computer that I'm aware of, unless it was bundled with something else and someone in my family didn't see the piggyback download. All I know is that now it's there trying to install itself but can't complete the install as it's looking for an installation CD. Thanks again. I'll let you know how that program works. sknis
That's strange. What kind of computer do you have? It may be part of an OEM that came with the computer. If you do a Windows Search for Roxio, what do you get? BTW, Use the Moderate Mode with the Revo Uninstaller Pro.
tj1371
Hi, thank you. I think the problem is solved. I downloaded the Revo Uninstaller. It did it's auto search and actually didn't find any Roxio programs to uninstall. So I used the Forced Uninstall button and was able to find the Roxio Media Manager folder in the C drive under program files for Roxio. The uninstaller did it's thing and removed it. I rebooted and had no problem. That appears to have cured whatever was trying to make the media manager program install. My computer is about 6 years old...due for a new one soon. It's an HP. I'm still not sure where the Roxio Media Manager came from and there's no other Roxio programs in my compter. so, anyway, thank you very much. I really, really appreciate the help.
