Editing On Creator 2012

got2getatan

Question

Have been having a nightmare trying to find the answers to my editing problems. For some reason I have been unable to access the forum for some time on my PC but now I find to my delight that I can get onto the forum without any trouble on my IPad. Problem that I have is that the scenes that I want to delete on Videowave are too small and I would like to know how to overcome this. Because I was unable to access the forum I have tried to get help from the support team over the few days, very disappointed. Told to upgrade my video card , PC only a couple of years old. Anyway is there anyone out there that point me to a solution before I start spending more money on my PC. This seems to be taking over my life. Thanks

It's just the silly mistakes with the camcorder use mostly when I first got the camcorder I quickly noted that I had the lens cap on. When I try split the scene just before and just after it tells me that the scenes that I am trying to edit are too small. This is in Timeline. Another question, when I capture from the DV camcorder the capture appears divided into scene sections but on completion they blend into one. When editing how do you get the individual scenes back so that you can work on them individually. Thanks

Didn't I already answer that first question in your other topic? Did you read thaty and still have a problem? My original answer was: It happens all the time to most people. Before you can delete a split section you have to re-select it. Make sure that it is highlighted ! Is this the way you are doing it?

As for scenes, watch this videoto see if it will help.

Done it after all this time, received an email with instructions from one of the support team directing me down another path/timeline production editor which solved the problem straight away so I will now be able to sleep at nights.

Do you mind sharing/posting what the support team suggested. It might help some user with the same problem.

Sorry about the delay in answering. Maybe I was barking up the wrong tree because I was following a tutorial on scene trimming and getting nowhere then a member of the support team told me to use the Production Editor in the Timeline and pressing the + buttons before and after the scene/pentagon shapes underlined and deletion, seemed to do the trick for me but you will know this where has I am still getting to grips with new installed creator. Thanks.

Those are called Markers and they are another way to accomplish the same thing ;)

I think that they are a little clumsier to use, but I do use them as well as Split & Delete and Split and Trim.

Generally you use what works best in a particular situation, just like popping back and forth between Storeline & Timeline during editing.
