Roxio Creator 2012 And Photoshow Premium

Wolfzone

Question

I was a Photoshow Premium member and created quite a few shows - all of which appear to still be on the Photoshow Premium site - however my membership has recently expired.

I'm considering purchasing Roxio Creator 2012 (although I've read many negatives about it) I've been using Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 and it's been a very good program to do many things.

Does Roxio Creator 2012 have Photoshow installed within its many programs? If so, why would I need to renew my membership with Photoshow Premium?

Hope I've been clear and I do greatly appreciate advise/feedback. Thank you.

And to answer your other question, no Creator does not have an equivalent to PhotoShow. You can still use the PhotoShow V6 that you downloaded (hopefully) to your computer, you just can't upload them to the web. The charge is for the online version and the web space.

Creator has a couple of slide show type programs; most of us use Edit Video-Advanced (Video Wave). If you haven't used that, here are some excellent tutorials (link).

Thanks much to both of you (and for deleting my email addy) Will now renew Photoshow Premium account - and also purchase Roxio Creator 2012. I've used the VideoWave feature/program in my earlier version of Creator but do prefer Photoshow. From what I've read, the Creator 2012 has many features I will surely enjoy. Thanks again. Helpful site and discussion.

Hi everyone,

I have a few questions about Photoshow premium.

Why does Roxio charge an annual member subscription on this software ? I thought I can just do a one time purchase just like any other software.

When the software expires after 1 year (without renewal), can I continue to use the software features (like all the premium music and burning to DVD) for my photoshow ?

I don't really need to use the online version and their web space. I just need to build my photoshow with all the available music and burn it to DVD for keepsake.

Any inforamtion will be greatly appreciated.

Did you read the answers above? They were all there. To reiterate:

The charge is for the web space, yes if you have the V6 download you can use it on your computer. It will work correctly you just will not have any updates or new menus, music, etc.

Thanks sknis,

Just to re-confirm...

In other words, I still have to join "the 1st year" as premium subscriber in order to download V6. Then, I can use ALL the features for a year.

As soon as I stop my subscription, I "will not" be able to use all the premium contents (ie. styles, music, stickers, etc...) but can continue to use the software with all the "basic" features. Perhaps, I will not be able to burn my photoshow to DVD either because burning to DVD is a premium feature.

Not correct. You need to buy the program. That is just like any other program. You have to pay for it. That cost is $40. Included in that $40 is the use of the web space for one year. There is an online version that is also included to make making PhtoShows "easier".

That first year, you can make the PhotoShow on your computer and upload to the web OR create the PhotoShow on-line. You have all the output options available.

If you do not renew, all your on-line PhotoShows will disappear. You will be given ample notice.

The program you buy, and download to your computer - PhotoShow V6 Build??? cannot be updated after the first year unless you renew.

The content you have in that last downloaded version will be the only content available. If Roxio/Corel should add new menus, music, etc. to the program after that first year that new content will not be available to you. You will be able to make DVD or video files or other items as you can now. You will of course not be able to upload or download any of the PhotoShows that you make after the first year.

The current version of Creator is Creator NXT. It is somewhat different from Creator 2012.
