NXT is not supposed to uninstall anything beyond the programs that it replaces.

Check your 2012 Folder, CC should still be there.

Update (9/1/12): I got a chance to install NXT this morning and I now see that it does remove Creator Classic!

It issues a 'Yes or Quit' warning early in the install:

And if you choose to continue the installation, rips the heart and soul out of 2012

Of course it does come with the Roxio Burn Data Disc application in the Data/Copy tab and it should do about everything CC could do...

If you have specific questions about it, ask away!

This is frankly appalling - where does it tell you in any of the material that Creator Classic has been removed? From what I know, there are plenty of things that Creator Classic could do which the current burning options can't - you just don't have the level of control (as far as I can see) over creation as you used to have.

And this approach seems to be the way Roxio continues to treat its users - I remember the time they changed the way Label Creator worked so that you had to manually re-create all your labels (if you wanted them) again, with no easy way to transfer them. They seem to want to forget the people who have bought their products in the past, and just hope to get by because of their name.

I suspect that this will be the last version of Roxio living on my machine.... I'm really not sure what it is now designed to do any more, given it started life with the focus on creating media - it feels like it has completely lost its way!

If this is true.... if the classic is gone, Roxio will be gone for me too. Without the classic, where you could add things to a cd/dvd which was already burned, which can't be done with other software (as far as I know). This is hard to believe after so many years that I've used Roxio. An other software company that doesn't care about they're users or clients.

Marja

Marja, I answered you, in your other thread, this morning.

Thank you, Brendon, for confirming what I said, in that thread. I wasn't sure if NXT was the version that axed it, but now I know for sure.
