Avchd Will Not Encode

SgtSaunders69

Question

I'm trying to create an ISO of an AVDHD project from Roxio 2010. Target will be an DL+ DVD. When I complete adding the movies (*.MOV), I validate (returns no errors) then attempt to encode to an ISO. At this point it appears to be running, but ran all night (10hours) with absolutely no progess. I routinely encode and burn non-HD projects and ISO files with no problem.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Why are you encoding to AVCHD? Do you have a BlueRay player?

I have a feeling that your Dell Latitude is just not up to the task of doing High Def video work.

Where did you get the mov file from? How many video files do you have? Menu or no menu?

What options are you using to burn the AVCHD ISO file?

How much time are you going to put on an AVCHD disc-- about 40 minutes at best quality is max.

I created the HD *.MOV files in my Nikon D5100 DSLR. There are 11 movie files in the project. I am using the "HD SPORTSCAST" menu, I am trying to burn to a DL+ Disc.

The PROJECT SETTINGS are

PROJECT TYPE: AVCHD Authoring

MENU ASPECT RATIO: 16:9

CONSTRAIN BUTTON ASPECT - selected

ACOUSTIC ALERT AFTER BURNING - selected

PRESET - Same as original

AUDIO FORMAT - Dolby Digital AC - 3-2.0

Additionally.... after deleting some files to shorten it a little bit I now get the following message at completion of rendering...

Project_BuildToDevice() AuthorScript call failed. Error while Writing Format

I see when doing a GOOGLE search that this error is something longstanding with ROXIO, although not specificially linked to creating videos... mostly involving creating slide shows. Has there been a fix for this issue?

Thanks

You avoided that question nicely. So you were trying to put too much onto a DVD.

Follow this process to get rid of the "Project-Build" error.

Followed this process to the LETTER ... using a 28 minute mp4 video. Result the same at the conclusion of hours of encoding.

I have the same Nikon camera as you. I will try creating an iso file from a .mov file from mine, tomorrow, if I get a chance.

Creator really doesn't like mov type files from a digital camera used as a camcorder. Usually because of audio issues but in this case, it may be more than that.

Try converting the mov files to mpg2 HD using a free video converter. Check cnet.com for one. I use "Any Video Converter". Put those videos into a project and use the above process to put it onto a DVD. If you are not doing any editing in Video Wave, you may get away with converting them to AVCHD files to begin with.

Note; If you have mov files from a camcorder, Creator will have no problem with them as long as you have the latest version of Quicktime on your computer.

I've found a solution to this, and all of the plague of Roxio problems.. it's called Cyberlink PowerDirector. Works great, no error messages... it's everything Roxio isn't and likely never will be! Check it out.... free evaluation downloads for 30 days.

Later all!

To each his own! Good luck with PowerDirector. I had it installed for a while but dumped it since it could not do some of the things Roxio can. There is no program "out there" that does everythign and quite often you have to use different programs to get exactly what you want.
