Toast 11.1 And Managment Of Image File .sd2F

Hi,

Today i've update my Toast 11.04 into 11.1

 

This is the problem: (I translate the voice menu because i've the italian version)

 

- Select the Tab "Audio"

- Add the audio tracks

- Save as image commad+D

- enter the filename and press Save

 

Now a pop up message told me that it's impossible to save the .sd2f file format.

Therfore i need to save with .toast extension.

 

Then the operation works properly and the file image is saved.

 

- From Utility menù i select "Mount disc image" or UPPERCASE+command+M

 

The first time that a press this command i need to enter my username password and then my Toast 11.1 freeze....

I can try to kill the process but also Mountain Lion doesn't work properly...infact when i try to reboot Mountain Lion freeze in a gray screen!

 

Anyone have this problem?

Is there a solution?

I get the same message that it can't be saved as .sd2f but given your experience I choose the Use Both option and it seems to work fine with mounting. It mounted as an audio CD in the Finder when I used Mount It and iTunes automatically opened and displayed it as if I inserted a new CD. I don't recall that happening with the .sd2f images.

I can mount the image only one time... if I try to mount another time Toast freeze down.

 

I can recovery the system with a Reboot and also sometimes M.Lion will freeze during the closing windows.

(And then i must press the start up button to force the shut-down)

 

if you have any ideas I'm going to try that!

Roxio fixed this extension problem with the latest Toast 11.1 (1067) update. It nows saves as a .sd2f file the way it used to do.

I had the same issue, but 1067 & 1072 DID NOT fix it. When I try to mount an sd2f file I'm asked for my password and then Toast hangs. System must be rebooted for toast to even work. Please try mounting an sd2f with 1067 or 1072 and see if it works for you.

I also can drag the .sd2f file to either the Audio CD window or to the Audio Files setting in the Convert window and the tracks all appear as it has in the past.

 

If you're wanting the .sd2f file to appear in the Finder as if an audio CD was inserted, I don't recall this being possible. The Mac OS sees it as a single audio track and not as a disc image.

You should recall better, it was possible! mount option is not working. In the past it appear in the finder as if an audio cd was inserted, itunes recognized it and rip it.

You can save it to bin cue format, open it on daemon tools lite for mac (beta). It mount it as id an audio cd and is recognized by iTunes.

Except the most recent version ofToast is hanging when attempting to mount said sd2f files, necessitating a reboot to quit Toast. What else can open sd2f files?

Let's stipulate that the mounting of disc images both currently created by Toast, and those created by previous versions of Toast and Jam is now broken. At least it's broken (and badly) in the way it used to function. Can anyone tell us what the Mount Disc Image command is supposed to do in the current (11.1) version? It is clearly not to mount sd2f files as volumes containing individual (different from single) files.
