2012 Creator Pro Can't Load

KJPick50

Question

I can not load my new 2012 Creator Pro. I get the interrupted message and it rolls back. The log I have loaded is the only that will fit as the other logs are to large. I have four other logs that are larger files, but I hope this can help. This has been going on for 2 months now and I really hoping someone can help me, I am going insane.

Thank you to all who take the time to view.

Ok, Update:

I copied all files to the C: drive, I did the complete removal of Creator 2010 and it got farther than it ever had...but it still rolled back. This is the newest log file

Action InstallActions.EMC_13X.Install failed with exit code 1603.

09/15/12 22:51:25 - Installation failed with error code 1603

09/15/12 22:51:25 - Rolling back installation

SSCRIPT_VERSION_MISSING = The InstallScript engine is missing from this machine. If available, please run ISScript.msi, or contact your support personnel for further assistance.

I asked that question in post # 7!

In my signature follow the clean un-install for C2010 and your operating system. Or use the appropriate un-installer here http://forums.suppor...al/#entry389062

After that follow this,

After 'Preparing your computer for installing Roxio products' here. Things I do before installation, in this order. Disable W-7 User Account Control (UAC), clean all cache, cookies, private data, clear history, delete the temp file contents (start run %temp%), run disc cleanup, empty the recycle bin, run disc defragmenter on the operating system C / installation drive (not to be done on a SSD Drive) . Reboot the PC, close all unnecessary running programs, disconnect from the internet and turn off / stop antivirus and firewall software. Now I'm ready to install the software.

Now when installing C2012 from the folder on your hard drive and it asks to check for updates tell it NO!

1) Did you install MSXML 4. ? If you don't have it on your computer then a) the secrity update won't install and 2) you will have issues with running the program.

2) Doesn't matter.

Did you make sure you installed the program to an administrator account and that you did not install it to run in compatibility mode?

Suggestion. Start from scratch USe Revo Uninstaller in the Moderate Mode to uninstall what got partially installed. Follow the install procedure in the link above to reinstall. MAKE SURE that you have shut off or diapbled your anti-virus.

I have no other suggestions.

They have done a terrible job of helping. I have done the things you all have suggested with them too. That's why I came here, because it would take sometimes a week to get a response. They did tell me to remove .net 4. Should I have it installed and try to install again?

Thank you all for the help, it has been almost two months of not getting this loaded.

Why? I thought that I had said that .net 4 framework was NOT installed on my computer. I mentioned that only because of the recent MS updates to it that will not install. If you would have told us what updates didn't install, it would have been much simpler.

Are you thinking of MSMXL 4 which should be installed? Please be careful and precise. If we are telling you something and you are doing something else, you may be screwing up your computer even more.

The only thing no one has suggested is to download Revo Uninstaller PRO - free trial. Use it in the moderate mode to search for and uninstall the parts of Creator 2012 that were installed and may now be giving problems. Revo Pro is supposed to find and uninstall partially installed programs. Read their instruction; the utility is "forced uninstall". I and many others have used it successfully without issues but we followed the instructions faithfully.

Double check that you have updated your computer using these things (except for optical drive firmware).

Turn off your anti-virus and try again to reinstall the software.

There are two updates for .net 4 framework that have come out recently. If you don't have that on the computer, it won't install but it will keep coming back and asking you to install it again. Not having .net 4 is not important to this program.

What has Roxio/Corel told you?

Did you update your computer using the information in my post #2 and cd post #13? Here it is again. Don't just tell us that it is a new computer !

For now, do not worry about updating the firmware for your burner. Pay special attention to MSXML and DirectX.

Are you having any other computer problems?

You are installing the program with your anti-virus OFF are's you?

Digital Guru -

I hate saying, but I am not sure I understand what you posted. Is this something I can search for on my computer? Would it be on a Window's backup disk? Like I said, I just don't understand.

I have attatched more of the log files. Please let me know what else I need to do. I bought the program direct from Roxio and the disc is clean. I have tried several times to load from the hard drive as well.

Again, I appreciate any help and the time it takes.

Along with sknis suggestions.

Is it a manufactured disc (silver backing) or does it appear to be a burned disc like a DVD+R (blue or purpleish back)?

Can you copy the installation disc to your hard drive and run setup.exe from there?

When you get the do you want to check for updates option during the beginning of the install answer no.

Make sure your installing with administrator permissions, not signed on to a user name that doesn't have them?

I see a 1603 error. That may mean that the disc can not be read properly. Can you copy the disc to a new folder on your computer and run it from there? Look at it to make sure there are no major scratches or dirt on the surface or on the rim.

Please provide this information on your computer dxdiag (link). Attach the text file; do not copy and paste it. It will tell us about your computer, OS and driver status.

Also, make sure your computer is up to date. Do this. At this point there is no need to update the firmware for your burner.

Keep you anti-virus off during the install.
