Cd/dvd Drives Disabled

JDWat09

Question

I have a problem with my Roxio Easy CD and DVD creation software. It says my drives are disabled (whhich they aren't) and I can't burn anything until the problem is resolved. Here is my system info:

Windows 7: Home Premium

I also have a Samsung Portable CD/DVD drive.

I do not know what other info you need. Everything regarding to my problem on the Roxio site here I have tried and nothing works to resolve my problem. Please help me. Thanks.

JDWat09,

You are being polite, but you're not answering the question.

Is your Easy CD and DVD Burning program failing to open, or is it opening and running but saying that your drives are disabled ? [You do have Easy CD and DVD Burning, in the red box, Win 7 compatible, don't you?]

These are two totally different situations, and we need to know which of these two problems you're encountering.

Thanks for clearing the confusion up about the program failing to open. That's a very different problem from saying the drives are disabled.

Can you tell us now just what Roxio program you have? Since you don't have the packaging, please start the program

-you should now be on the 'Home' display. At the top left of the program display there should be four button labels, File, View, Tools, and Help.

Please click on the Help label, and then select 'About this Software'.

-You should now see a box like this one. Those first two lines just under the Roxio emblem are the ones which count.

Please tell us from that display on your machine, what the name and version number of your software are?

Regards,

Brendon

cdanteek, I am trying to be as polite as i can... the link you gave me to try by following the instructions of Post #6... I did it, and Roxio WILL NOT OPEN! I done that step several times with the same result. I installed the software... and Roxio didn't open... let's try somthing else that may help.

i don't have a printer... and I tried that Px engine... I installed it and it still doesn't allow my Roxio software to work. I can burn CD/DVD's, I just can't open Roxio...

Huh, you said you could not burn and everyone was thinking that was the problem. Now you post this? Please explain (fully).

Digital Guru, I followed your instructions on the other post, and I did as you posted, but it still didn't help. I do not know what to do. I tried everything possible, My computer sees the CD/DVD Drives, but Roxio sees them as Disabled... strange.

Print it off and follow it to the 'T' .

Don't add anything or skip anything!
