Question

I am burning a project however a number of the stills do not load, they come up black. I have re-burned several times with the same result. 100 stills record and about 15 will not. They play on the replay option.

The program seems unsteady at times, not as reliable as it should be.

Most Likely that is an issue with your Video Card or Chip...

First thing is to make sure you have Both the drivers AND the software up to date for your card/chip!

Video Driver Updates for AMD ATI & NVIDIA:

AMD

NVIDIA

That may even effect your 'stability' as well

Another thing is in either MyDVD or VideoWave (Edit Video-Advanced) is to go under Tools - Options and set the Render to Software. - the default is hardware and sometimes it does not work as good ;)

While you are playing around with this stuff, find out your Video Card/Chip and tell us what you have.

I really hope you are using a DVD RW for this and not filling up a landfill

It is not the video card! It is Roxio. Admit it & maybe these issues will finally be corrected.

Nothing to be corrected since it works correctly. If it was the software, everyone who is creating a slideshow would be reporting this and obviously that is not happening. I have created many slideshows and have it only happen when I try to use some transitions (the 3D type) which my video card cannot handle or my slideshow is too long and I use the Fit-to-disc setting (which is the worst setting to use anyway)

Folks posting here are not Roxio employees. We are users of the software, just like you.
