Blur/ghost Screen

MarkyMaster

Question

Hi guys,

Got my RGC today and after some problems I finally got it working. But now I've got a blurry screen (look screen below). I've tried many things, like swithcing to 720p, restarting my PS3 and reset my display settings

Well maybe you can't see it, but on my TV you can see it much better. On my tv, it's totally not HD, just blur. One the screenshot it doesn't look that blur.

How can i Solve this?

Thanks in advance! (I'm Dutch by the way, sorry if my English isn't that good, and sorry I took the screenshot with Dutch language on lol

When the PS3 is connected directly to your HD TV the picture should be "perfect". It should also be the same when you are connected through the Roxio capture card (assuming you have component cable connected correctly).

The Roxio capture card just acts as a pass through (it does not add/delete or change the video signal).

So, please clarify when you say the picture is "better" does that mean it is "perfect" or just acceptable.

Well, it's good but I can't say it's perfect. When I'm playing with my HDMI cable it's better. I have bought a Speedlink component cable around 15 euros, not the official one from Sony. Would that make difference? I've also saw people just playing with a 10$ component cable and they didn't have a fuzzy screen.

With the fuzzy screen it just looks like your playing on a 3D TV without 3D glasses.

Please clarify:

When your PS3 is plugged directly into your TV using either HDMI or Component cable the picture is not acceptable.

With HDMI cable the picture is perfect. With component cable the picture is not that good, so you can say it is not acceptable. Could it make difference when I get a Sony Component cable? That will cost me another 30$

Try your PS3 with the same cables on a friends/neighbour/co-workers TV using the same cables.

Use HDMI first, if all is ok turn of the PS3, then plug in the component cable.

You could try this on yours, before doing the test above.
