Does your computer exceed the minimum requirements for the program? Please do a dxdiag.exe evaluation on your computer and attach the results (do not copy and paste) make sure you follow step 5 and/or go to the link there. Here are the instructions. If we look at the file it, we can pretty much tell if your computer is part of the problem or if there are other things to look at.

Set your Windows default size back to 100% and try that again. Your computer look fine for running the program. Make sure you have Quicktime on your computer if they have an Apple extension (codec). Where did you get the original videos? What format are they? How did you get them onto your computer? I still don't understand if you are losing the original videos or are you losing the edited video output from Edit Video -Advanced (Video Wave) or Create DVD (MyDVD) Download the free GSpot Codec Information Appliance (link) and drag one of the original videos to it. Try positng a screen shot of that window or just tell us what it says about the codec. BTW, I tried to delete that long post but the forum is screwed up agaon and could not; just ignore it for now.
