Burning Makemkv File To Blu Ray Disk Has No Audio

ogmiii

Question

I was not able to find any direct mention of this topic and assume there is a simple answer but here we go: using os 10.8.2, toast titanium 11.1, and Makemkv 1.7.7 beta downloaded after 8/17/12 I burned my first blu ray and had sound for the "extra" which used dolby digital stereo, but no audio for the main feature which uses dts 5.1. I'm sure it is a setting somewhere but can't seem to locate that in the Toast window. The file plays fine with sound in VLC. The files combine to 26.08 GB so I am pretty sure it was compressed onto the single layer BR disc and I saw some pixelation.

Upon second try with new .mkv file I was informed that the file was not supported by Toast. I don't know what the difference was, other than the original file was created using snow leopard and Make Mkv prior to the image change on August 17th to accommodate mountain lion.

Any suggested settings or information to correct these issues would be very welcome

Toast cannot decode DTS audio. If your source has multiple audio streams (which it should) you can force select the Dolby AC-3 stream by clicking the Edit... button and clicking on the Audio description in the window that appears. When there are multiple audio streams that description becomes a button for a drop-down selection.

The only workaround I've found when Toast can't recognize a video file is to resave it using some other application. If MPEG Streamclip works with your source video then that may be a way to get a version that has the header written so that Toast recognizes it.
