Blurry Picture On Tv

Hi guys,

 

I have done a search of the forums and it seems like an all too common problem but I don't seem to be able to find a fix.. I have the blurred picture on the telly when my game cap device is plugged in. When I plugged the component cable directly into the TV the picture quality was perfect, but when I route through the game cap it's blurred and not even close to 720p.

 

Any suggestions?

Cables are all inserted into the correct connecters so that doesn't appear to be the issue.

As a quick test, hook up a DVD player/Camcorder into the capture card input, rather than the PS3.

 

The capture card is just a pass-through. it does not add/delete or change the analog signal.

I don't have another device that the PS3 component cable will fit I'm afraid. I understand that it's just a pass through hence I know there is some sort of problem. Seems like a fairly common one in all honesty.

Re-read the first sentence in post #5.....

 

The PS3 cable is NOT involved in the test.
