Capture Video But No Sound

I have an old vhs tape dated 1990. Tried a capture and the video captured ok, but no sound recorded. Just to check I played the video on cineplayer, and it played ok but with no sound. It's a video made at universal studios during a tourist visit. It's only 8 minutes long, but would like to put on a cd or dvd. I've captured other videos okay so I don't think it's my system.

I clicked on my speaker icon, but it doesn't show a "volume mixer" title, just "open volume control". The titles under volume control are "master, wave, sw synth, cd player, line volume". Line volume was muted, and I unchecked it. I also set the recording level to max on EVD3, it was set to half way. I then recorded again with the sound coming through. All is well in Star Trek land.
