Burned Dvd Only Plays Menu

K9VET

Question

I produced an edited movie in Videowave and sent it to MyDVD to add chapter marks and a menu, and then went thru the rendering process (encode movies, menus, etc.) and DVD was burned. No error messages; all seemed normal. But DVD only will play the menu and not the content of the movie! I did this twice, wasting time and discs. What is wrong?

Did you click on the movie name or icon?

Did you do a preview in myDVD of the menu setup before burning?

It is also advisable to first burn your project to an iso image file. This iso file can then be played using the free VLC video player. You save makeing a lot of coasters that way

Still no luck. My movie is only 14 minutes long. I did the preview as follows: clicked the preview button, the menu loaded and played and the DVD control appeared on the left and I clicked on the play button there and my movie plays. Then I tried the burn again and it went thru the rendering sequence as it should (which took about 45 minutes) and the DVD that came out still only plays the menu. No way to get the movie itself to play. Frustrating! I don't get it, but I am glad that I have other video software I can use... I am still looking for the answer.

Have your tried the folder set or iso image file method? THen play the created folder or iso image file with VLC. I find that is a better test of the project then using the built-in preview since it plays the "image" of what will actually be burned on the DVD. If this works correctly then the problem seems to be with the burn, the burner or a poor DVD quality.

What happens when you click the movie title on the menu page?

45 minutes for a 14 minute movie??? <_<

What Quality setting are you using ~ hint HQ is the only right answer :D

Did you play your burned DVD on your computer (CinePlayer)?

Do the buttons works there?

I am leaning toward a low mbps and Player problem... Those questions will resolve that Guess ;)
