Can't Hear Sound

Theturk

Question

Hi, i've made a 2 computer setup using 2 fast computers but my desktop is connected to my TV so what I did was. I connected the hdmi from my computer to the roxio and then connected another hdmi to go straight to my tv. Which I use as my monitor. The problem with this is, i can't hear any sound on my stream. No sound at all. I hear the game sound on my headphones. but the stream can't hear what I hear on my headphones. I use Logitech g35 headphones so the headphones are connected via USB. Oh and the Roxio is connected at my laptop. Not on my desktop so it's not using the desktop processor. This was why i bought the card. I wish to play the game with full settings and stream with good quality.

chalibraun: Sorry, I did not mean that to sound like I was scolding you

We have an expression of 'Break the Chain of Failure'... meaning when something doesn't work stop trying to tweak it and just tear it down and rebuild it in a simplified version.

That is what you need to do here ;)

Well try to help you, sorry I use a translator.

1 - hdmi output pc - RGC-HD games

2 - RCG-HD output to TV or computer monitor

(Do not double computer screen or two HDMI outputs let alone the default and the only way out)

3 Sound - The main sound driver is the HDMI output of your graphic card. ATI has an internal controller Nvidea sometimes you have to put a cable to the sound card to hdmi pass)

4 if you have a HDMI Nvidea driver or something that has to be as default playback devices.

So the audio output from the HDMI to RGC-HD

5 now have two ways to put the voice

5-a on the laptop using the microphone and tell the Program streming settings that mix.

5-b make the computer think the mix where you play.

for elllo -> recording devices -> set as default microphone -> go properties -> listen - and mark you hear Al HDMI

I have it as well and it works perfect.

Sorry I can not put drawings

And if your card does not have the internal hdmi'll have to find how to put the cable to the sound card input Blast video is easy but hard to explain without knowing the exact models, I hope your Blast is for those with integrated sound in the chart also.

regards

And there is also no HDMI Plugged into my laptop... there are only 2 hdmi cables connected and 1 one of them is coming out of my desktop to the roxio box and the other from the roxio to my HD Tv.. The only thing connected to my laptop is the ROxio itself via usb.

The picture is an example of what the mixer looks like, not what you should actually see ~ I pulled it from my collection...

Puzzling but I think something in your setup is the problem???

First thing to to try, UNplug the headphones!

What happens now to the Audio?

If that doesn't make any difference, try this (for testing)...

Use the HDMI Out on your Laptop, plugged into your Roxio GameCAP HD PRO.

HD PRO USB, plugged into your Desktop (of course Roxio software running there)

No Headphones connected.

Stop! no other connections!

What happens?

Left Click Speaker & pick Mixer:

Look at the controls:

I am getting a better picture of your setup, I think

What kind of Game Box are you using? Or are you just using the desktop to play the game on and the Lap to Stream/Capture on???

Is there some way to test the Audio of the mini HDMI from your desktop seperately? A TV or Monitor or even capturing with Roxio to see if Audio is present?

I wish one of the other users might offer a suggestion or two, anytime now :D:lol:

I do not know what a mixer is... Do you mean sound in my control panel ? That's why i wasn't able to try what you said. Gtx 580 is on my desktop it's my graphics card. Which is where the HDMI comes from. When you say INPUT do you mean what i connect as my gaming computer ? I ll explain it all with every component and cable... Dekstop is where i play my game cause it's faster than my laptop. So my desktop graphics card GTX580, has a mini HDMI port i used that port with an HDMI cable to connect it to my roxio card. Then i got another HDMI cable coming out of the otherside of my roxio connected to my tv via an HDMI port.. My roxio card is connected to my laptop via USB and I have installed the program to run it. Now the problem i have is when im streaming nobody can hear what's happening on my desktop. But I can. The people who are on the stream can't hear me. If you explain more how I can check my Mixer things i will do that.

GTX 580 3gbs. It has a mini hdmi port and i got the cable to connect it to an HDMI.

I did not find anything that indicates this is for INput??? And the GTX 580 is not on your desktop is it?

I can hear music on my headphones so nothing is muted, like the people on stream can't hear the sound from my desktop.

Not necessarily true... Why can't you just do what I asked in post #4 instead of making up your own tests???

I can hear music on my headphones so nothing is muted, like the people on stream can't hear the sound from my desktop. That's my issue here. Video is fine and it works but the sound won't work. So the people on the stream can not here anything when I speak nor the gameplay. Everything works just not sound.. I stream on twitch.tv....

Theturk: Thanks for the update - helps but raised a question or two

What do you have on your Desktop PC that allows HDMI input???

If you open the Mixer (right click on the speaker icon) on the Desktop are the Speakers by chance set to Mute?

You mentioned "stream sound". What 'stream' are you refering to??? (what you described are connections without any streaming)

Ok, so the roxio is connected to my laptop which has the software installed on it. Roxio is connected via USB to my laptop. I am using an HDMI cable for connection IN and OUT. I ll explain the whole setup now. My Desktop which is where i play my game is connected to the Roxio via HDMI. then the other HDMI cable coming out of roxio is connected to my big screen tv. There is no HDMI connection between my laptop and the Roxio. I am 100% sure i got the cables correctly. So recap, Desktop to roxio, roxio to my big screen tv. I have sound on my desktop on my headphones. Just i get no stream sound.
