Starting Mydvd Starts Configuration Of Smartsounds

Hello everyone,

I've been corresponding with TechSupport for 2 weeks regarding this issue with myDVD in Creator NXT and have been struggling to get this resolved. Here's what happens:

Every time that I start myDvD, the SmartSound Quicktracks 5 configuration process starts up and looks for "SmartSound Quicktracks 5.msi" in the path "C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp\RarSFX0\SmartSound\"

which does not exist.

I've tried the following per TechSupport's advice without success:

  • running the installs for Creator NXT by right clicking and selecting "Run as administrator..."
  • removing the SmartSounds program from my machine

I've even tried manually creating the path that it's looking for and copying the msi file in that path but that hasn't worked either.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this addressed?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Regards,

Hi Jim,

My original post mentions what Tech Support had me try to date, without success. The most recent thing Tech Support had me try finally worked: they suggested that I use FixIt in the following Microsoft KB article http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall to remove SmartSounds Quicktracks 5, and that finally resolved the problem.

It seems that uninstalling the program via the control panel doesn't completely remove it but FixIt did the trick.

Of course, I'm no longer able to use SmartSounds, but that's a separate issue.

Thanks everyone for taking a look and seeing if you could help.

Regards,

Peppy
