Component Screen Cut Off.

SirLegitKilla

Question

I recently bought the roxio hd pro I started using it yesterday all works well but when it came to using my component cable I noticed that on all sides of the screen there is about 1 or 2 inches of screen cut off. I have messed with tv aspect ratio and thats not the case I can clearly see its cut off from the xbox I zoom out and it shows where its cut. I used an hd av vga cable before the component and I can see the full screen on the vga cable, even with HDMI the screen is cut about an inch off. I mess with all the setting the xbox offers for display settings which isn't much and nothing changes with HDMI or component.

Has anyone else had this issue with HDMI or component, I don't want to have to switch from component and vga when I want or don't want to record very annoying.

NOTE: I have the switch for HDTV and SD TV switched to HDTV on the component cable.

Thanks!

One thing that is still fuzzy for me... You mentioned " I used an hd av vga cable before the component and I can see the full screen on the vga cable"

Now in this picture, WHAT is going to your TV:

Also, you did say that if you use an HDMI from the GameCAP Pass Through to the TV it worked OK??? (of did I just make that up?)

As far as I know it has nothing to do with being connected to the roxio hd pro, I'm having the problem of lacking aspect ratio while not connected through the roxio with component. When I am connected through the roxio shown in the picture you posted I have it connected component from the xbox and component to the tv.

I hope that since you know that its not a problem from the roxio hd pro you might be able to help further with this issue.

Note: HDMI cable without roxio pass through does this as well. HD AV VGA cable is the only cable that has no aspect ratio problem.

OK, that puts it in a little different perspective ;)

Sooo did it work before you go the Roxio?

Did you have to make some changes in the output settings of your Xbox to get Roxio to work?

Have you checked your TV to see if any settings there need to be changed to accommodate your input? (I really suspect it is an Xbox setting, but I'm just throwing out that bone  )

The aspect ratio was still a problem before I even plugged it in through the roxio, I have triple checked my tv's settings with the component cable connected and still no changes thats when I noticed the problem Im pretty sure its the xbox as well but have the xbox display settings set correctly for my tv too.

I'm just so confused because the hd av vga cable has perfect aspect ratio but when I use the component cable or even an HDMI cable it has the same problem.

Please clarify (I just want to make sure we are on the same page).

You have connected a Xbox 360 HD Component cable like this

directly into your HD TV component input jack.

You have no other connections on your Xbox, and verified that the Xbox output is set for Component output.

I checked out the user manual for your TV, and I cant see anything that jumps out at me that would cause your problem.

You have tried all the different Aspect ratio settings on your TV so that leaves only the Xbox as the problem.

As a quick test, try using a DVD player/camcorder as your source (rather than the Xbox) and see how that works

Yea I looked through my manual as well nothing in it to help me.

I have lost count how many times I have messed with the aspect ratio on the tv and when I zoom out and make the picture smaller it does not show what is cut off.

I tested my xbox on a different tv not to long ago and it wasn't cut off at all via component or HDMI so I think the tv's component and HDMI just isn't right for some reason VGA works well with it though, but downfall to vga is Roxio hd pro doesn't support VGA.

Zoom controls on a TV ONLY WORK when OFF!

You 'zoom in' but it has price, cutoff. You can only have a full picture when zoomed out...

TV's are mostly 16:9 but some games output at 16:10! In that case It till never fit and nothing can be done...

Still, it would be nice if you would post a pic of your TV sowe can see what you are tal king about.
