  1. I replaced the external DVD drive with a different model and it works! Now the question is there a way to automatically finalize the disk and lock it down so that in the future all disks are finalized when first writen to and the users can not change the setting?

ALL DVD Movies written by Video Copy and Convert or MyDVD are automatically finalized if they are a DVD dash (dvd-r)

Plus discs (dvd+) do not require finalizing.

For DATA DISCs... Creator Classic has an option in the burning pane, whereas Burn Data Disc, it is in the Options.

You never stated what type of burning you are doing ;)

If you want a DVD + R write once media to play on a settop DVD Player they do require finalizing and both programs should automatically finalize the disc.

Only burning data disks. I have no control over which DVDs (R or RW+) the users will be using. I have a requirement that all disks must be closed (finalized) after the first time they are written to. Also in my testing the DVD-R can have multiple sessions written to it with Roxio 2012. I know I can choose "I want to close the DVD", however I do not want a user to have the ability to choose the option "I want to leave the DVD open". I want to lock it down. Is there a way through the registry to lock it down or any other means?

I don't know how I can clarify it any more than I did.

I don't want a user to have the option to write to a DVD more than once.

Ok, that is clear.

The "I want to leave the DVD open" through me.

No way I know it's a user setting.

I doubt you will find another user here running "Roxio Creator 12 running on Wndows 7 Enterprise 64-bit XenDesktop 5.6 VM", sorry
