Thumbnails In Mydvd

ramitude

Question

I'm having problems with thumbnail images. After I select a thumbnail from a chapter it often doesn't show up - the image remains black on the preview screen. I've tried burning a DVD and they don't show up on the burn so it's evidently not just an issue with the preview. It is a video with 21 chapters. The last 12 seem to be working correctly but the first 9 do not. I have the latest versions of DirectX and my video card driver (ATI Mobility Radeon X300). Any ideas would be helpful.

Have you moved any of those files? If so, you need to relink the files or put them back where they were.

I said simular, they could be related from a coding stand point.

If you read enough you will see if I select a thumbnail sometimes I get a white screen in its place. Other times I might get the frame I selected or an entirely different one.

It seems to be setting the start at the end of the video in my case.

I was wondering if that was what ramitude was seeing as well.

I'm also wondering if he has it in hardware or software rendering mode.

I don't know if this makes a big difference in the preview or not.

The issues do sound similar, although the thumbnails that do show up are where I selected them. I am using hardware rendering and have not moved the files.

I am new to video editing and I assumed that I wasn't doing something correctly. Judging from the responses I'd say that the fault probably is not mine.

Try rebuilding the Media Manager. Thanks ml

2. rebuilding the media manager:

Rename your Media Manager folder.

Media Manager is a hidden file. Go to My Computer/Tools/Folder Options, click on View, scroll down to Hidden Files and folders, and click in the circle to the left of Show hidden files and folders. Click on Apply, then Ok.

a. Close all open applications, especially Roxio applications.

b. Open My Computer.

c. Double click on the C: drive and browse to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Roxio, where USERNAME is the name of the user you are currently logged in as.

d. Right click on the MediaManager folder and choose rename.

e. Name the folder MediaManager.old
