You can't record the PS3 over HDMI because of HDMI protection, also known as HDCP. So in other words, you have to use component cables. The only way you can record HDMI(PS3) is to use Fraps to record the preview window, but it will completely defeat the purpose of having a hardware encoder inside the Roxio. Also, it will put a massive load on your PC and lag like ****. Since you're on PS3, you can record with component cables and play with HDMI.
