I feel stupid. Have encountered a problem similar to the experience had in February 2011. Cannot recall how the Capture From problem was resolved.

 

After opening Sound Editor, and then clicking on Record, the Record Audio window that opens. In the Capture From dialogue box, the box shows USB 2861. It does not show the soundcard in the computer. Nor is there any other selection available. The selection box is stuck on USB 2861.

Any recommednations on how to remove USB 2861 and then be able to select the on-board sound card on the computer?

In the computer sound properties, for recording, set your onboard sound card as the default.

Already did that. Default setting is RealTek HD Audio. Did not do anything different. Roxio Sound Editor still can't connect to the sound card. See my posting under How To and Usability.
