lloohh
I just purchased and installed Creator NXT. When I try to import a video into My DVD or try to edit a video with Video Wave the program closes and will not work. I was using Roxio 10 on a ten year old Dell Pentium 4 with XP operating system and it worked great. I recently purchased a Dell 8500 with window 7. Roxio 10 would not work when I installed it. I decided to try Windows Essentials with Movie Maker and it worked fine after I got used to it. When Window 8 came out I purchased and installed the $14.95 upgrade. Since then Movie Maker will not work on my computer. I decided to purchase NXT in the hopes that it would run on my computer. The seller of the software assured me that Roxio Creator NXT would in fact run on my sytem. It does not! When I open Video Wave and try to import a video I get a message saying that Windows is shutting down the program and will notify me when there is a fix. Does anyone have an idea? Jim_Hardin
Try a Repair: First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc. Now insert your Roxio Disc (download version - run Install) Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows) When you reach the screen where Repair is offered, choose that! When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot. NXT IS Win8 Compatible
lloohh
Thank you so much. That worked. I was able to use video wave and cut and edit five video clips and save them. The problem now is that I get the following message "8004520c Error while Encoding Movie 1" when trying to burn it to disc or as an iso file. Jim_Hardin
??? I am guessing 'Movie1' is one of the VideoWave projects... Open it IN VideoWave and Export As a file ~ mpeg2 HQ for DVD Then open your MyDVD Project and delete the original and add the file you just created... Just see if this works for now... If you have multiple clips in your MyDVD Project it will mess up the order
lloohh
I got the project to decode and burn to disc. It had nothing to do with the Video. I changed the disc intro music and the file was WAV. For what ever reason when I replaced music with the same song in mp3 format the project decoded and worked great. Now I have another project. I have tried two different projects and have got the same results. After ediiting the projects with VideoWave and saving them, setting the "project settings" etc. I try to burn to disc and/or as iso file. The project goes through the processes of decoding the project and chapters. When it gets to 97% of being complete it freezes and it get the "not responding" message. I have let it go for an hour one time. Any ideas? L

Do not have the "burn to Disc" and "create image file or folder" checked at the same time. Use the image or folder set to test your project before trying an burn to disc. lloohh
In response to Myguggi one hour 15 min. One Title. 14 Chapters. High quality SP. yes to "B-D" and iso at same time. and I have tried iso alone and burning either way if fails. If I had too long of a project, too many titles, too many chapters, or the burn setting was set wrong there should have been a pop up screen saying so. It should not matter how many titles, chapters or settings. It worked fine with Roxio 10 on my old system. I was able to create dvds with six - eight titles. The projects in question are each an episode of SNL i made for my son. I have edited out all commercials, and set chapters for each sketch. I have done this many time in the past so I know that Roxio used to be capable. But now the original problem is back. I can't even get "My DVD" to stay opened or Video Wave to launch again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software (i shut bit defender and windows firewall first) and the problem persists. I have given up. the company I purchased the software from is going to refund my money. I have been using Roxio for 10 years and have never had such problems. No one should have to spend this much time with software that is supposedly "compatible" with their hardware and/or software. If it has this many hang ups it is not compatible - at least with my system. I have order Cyberlink Media 10 Ultra. I hope it works. Thanks for your help.
