Capture Box Not Even Being Detected

longbow1

Question

Hi There

I Recently got the HD capture card, however its not being recieved by my computer, its not showing up in the device manager on two seperate machines, the audio que that tells me if a USB device has been plugged in/out is not playing, and it just says that nothing has been hooked up.

I've tried re-installing about 5 times each time without the device hooked up and its just not finding it, the blue light on the top does light up though

I have so far tried two seperate machines(both running Windows 7 Ultimate) and both have had the same result of nothing popping up

anyone have any ideas?

I have the same exact problem as him I everything he posted their is happening to me. And what was the point of you commenting that if you didn't realize I started a thread already before I posted that and saw this and its the same problem so calm down.

Walt wasn't excited, just trying to point out 'good manners'

It is rude to butt into someone else's' conversation and it will be ignored...

Useless "me too" post are usually ignored.

If you want help start a new thread and explain your problem. People trying to help don't have time to waste reading through a long thread trying to figure out what "the same problem" is and in most cases it isn't even close the to the original posters problem

UAC is active, and yes it is an administrator account

Shut UAC off (everything shut off antivirus/firewall software) and run repair again without the USB Device plugged in. Reboot plugin the USB Devive do you show the drivers in device manager?

If that doesn't work try a complete uninstall without the USB Capture device plugged in, UAC off (everything shut off antivirus/firewall software) reboot reinstall with UAC off (everything shut off antivirus/firewall software) reboot . Plugin the USB Devive do you show the drivers in device manager?

If that doesn't work you have something strange going on and I can't fix it from my location.

Submit a support ticket.

the software is installed lol, it did that when i first plugged it in, mine for some reason searches the computer for the driver then allows it

If nothing shows for a driver when the device is plugged in, in device manager other devices and sound video and game controllers expanded?

Unplug the device reboot the PC and put the installation disc in a DVD Drive. When repair is offered run it, reboot the PC, open the software and plugin the USB Device.

Does it show a driver in device manager under sound video and game controllers?

yeah, any ideas on why or if i should just ask for an exchange?

i think it did show up when i initially plugged it in but it failed to install

The software is not installed?

Even so windows should of installed generic drivers for the USB device when plugged in!

yeah i know, the connections are fine (tried two cables), its setup correctly and 'other devices' is not even in the device manger on both machines :S

You tried all ports on the desktop and checked they are enabled (working)?

So systems shut down USB ports as a power saving tool.

I would check your power settings and the USB settings.

Does the Roxio device have a power light and it works?

Maybe you will have to start a support ticket for a refund or exchange.

Desktop, tried multiple ports, even tried a seperate laptop

If your PC doesn't make a sound when you plug-in the Roxio Game Capture Device in to a USB 2.0 port on the PC, your device might be defective?

Windows should see it make a sound when plugged in and install generic drivers, why I asked to see device manager 'other devices'

I would recheck all your connections and look over the Roxio detailed installation instructions here.
