Roxio Usb Driver/little Caution Sign

keyaira

Question

I got my Roxio Game Capture HD Pro in the post a few days ago and I've been trying to work it ever since. At first the software wasn't working and every time I tried to open the program I got the |Critical Keys Registry Missing|. I uninstalled, or tried to, uninstall the entire program and usb driver.

I rebooted my pc, repaired, updated, rebooted, etc. I finally ended up having to go into my registry and cleaning up flies. When I had it all sorted out the program finally opened and I was apply to choice between capture or edit/share. Just a little background.

But, I digress that's not why I'm here. When I open my device manager I've got the little yellow caution sign over the Roxio usb. I only have one driver for it. I read you're supposed to have two. Also, it says driver not installed correctly, obviously. :P I've uninstalled the driver, rebooted, repaired, rebooted, re-installed/updated, but still nada. I'm running out of ideas really and I've turned to my fellow community for some insight on my problem.

Should I uninstall and start from scratch?

I don't know how to give my pc specs, but I have some pictures.

This is how my device manager looks before I plug in the usb:

This is how it looks after:

If you have the HD Pro then there is only 1 entry in Device Manager.

I hate to go backwards but with the device plugged in uninstall it from Device Manager.Right click the entry and hit uninstall.

Then unplug the device and reboot.

After the reboot uninstall the software.

Reboot once more.(I know it's a few but just to restart things).

Now follow these steps exactly to prep

Once you've done all of that then reinstall the software and reboot.

Once you've rebooted plug in the device and see what happens.

You should only have 1 entry for the device in Device Manager.

Hopefully now the driver loaded correctly when you plugged the device back in.

Ok, I'll give this a go and get back to you with the results.

But now when I open Roxio and click the capture option, I get this:

I can see the xbox 360 dashboard on my tv screen, but the capture screen on my pc has the 3am infomercial rainbow. The source is on hdmi; so is the tv/xbox. It's hooked up accordingly, I think. I mean, if I wasn't I wouldn't be able to see the 360 dashboard on my tv right?

Have a look at the installation hookup guide, link below, are you connected and set correctly?

I'm pretty sure, from the diagram I'm setup the same way. I can hear the game through my pc, I just can't see in the preview box. Maybe I should reboot my pc one last time for good luck. lol jk

I'm gonna tinker with it a bit more, if you guys have more suggestions they are appreciated. :D

Not sure where those color bars are coming from.

For grins try changing the input from HDMI to Component and then back again.

The device itself has no video,it's only passing what it receives so I wouldn't think they're coming from the device.

Yeah, I did that and I've been tinkering with the setup, but nothing. I get the color bars even when I turn my 360 off. Maybe my pc monitor?

I clicked the help button - click system info. Maybe someone can make sense of it and find a problem

(Edit)

Although I can't see in my preview screen I pressed the capture button, you know just for kicks, and I recorded for 1 min and 25 sec. But it only captured a second.

Little update I've resolved the problem with the color bars. All I did was uninstall Roxio with Revo Uninstaller Pro and re-installed it. I don't know why it freaked out before, but it's fixed now. ^_^
