Horrible Audio Distortion When Using Streaming Programs

Toastaer

Question

Hello, for hours now I've been trying to get my Roxio Game Capture to work properly with streaming programs such as X-Split and OBS. The problem is that no matter how I configure the sound settings for the Roxio Line, for OBS/X-Split, or for anything else, whenever I stream or preview stream or do anything else that accesses Roxio Game Capture, the audio becomes absolutely ghastly and extremely loud, with heavy distortion. In sound under control panel, Roxio's volume bar is completely filled in with green. All these problems immediately go away when I open up the Roxio Game Capture program, and touch the volume slider there. At this point, the volume becomes perfect, just the way it should be, and it remains this way both in the program and for the Line, UNTIL I click stream on one of these other programs, even if I have sound disabled on them. Then, the line for Roxio becomes distorted again.

I've tried restarting my computer and updating my sound card and Roxio, all the basic stuff like that. I've fiddled with every setting I'm aware of that's in existence, but nothing works. Setting the audio level for the line to zero doesn't even work, it just gets slightly less distorted. Because of this and the fact that the bar is filled to the top with green and doesn't fluctuate at all (no matter how quiet the sound), the problem feels like the sound is just too intense and loud, causing distortion.

So, can anyone help me with this? It's incredibly frustrating and I've never had a problem with Roxio before. Thank you very much for your time.

Point me to where you saw the program was designed to stream with OBS/X-Split?

I don't imagine many things are 'designed' to run with OBS/X-Split in mind. I know for a fact it works because I've seen videos on YouTube of it working with OBS/X-Split, and I have had first hand experience with it working in the past. Even a Dazzle-DVC which I can get for a fraction of the price of a Roxio works perfectly with it.

I'm not talking about using the actual program in which you capture from Roxio with it, but the actual physical device itself.
