Edit Video In Mulitple Areas

Question

I have a imported 28 minute video that I'm trying to edit small un-wanted areas throughout but I can't seem to edit those sections out. I don't seem to have the Double Headed Arrows icon for splitting. All I can seem to do is edit just at the start or just at the end. I'm very new so I think I'm missing a step or 2. Thanks for the help.

Go here and watch the first two videos. Use the one that works the best for you.

I get an error message stating I can't do the split because one or both of the items will be too small. I'm trying to edit about 2 second sections out of the video and I can't proceed. I thought I was following the recommended process per your suggested video but I'm just at a loss.

That is a common issue. In order NOT to get the error message, you have to make sure that you have selected the area where you want to split. There will be a dotted box around the area selected. You hvae to keep selecting the area that you want to work with. If you select an area and do somethign with it, you have to re-select the new area.

Note: To make this easier, spread out the timeline so you have the 2 seconds spread out.
