Program Taking Memory Data (Resolved) "hopefully"

Syralys

Question

So Through my frustration and determination. I have solved my problem.

This may not make sense but I'll explain it as best as I can.

As I was at work on my break I was remembering my friend said that he isn't losing any HDD space what so ever. My other friend who helped me build my computer told me it could be some files causing it to interfere with the program and make it take my space. I don't know exactly what was wrong with it and people at Roxio have never heard this at all yet, but I'm hoping they are fixing the issue.

So through my thinking I remembered my friend said he has his capture settings going to his external hard drive so he can start capturing gameplay so he can post to youtube. I was thinking if I could get one maybe it will fix my problem, BUT the problem was I don't have the money to buy an external hard drive. So I decided to do some searching when I got home and found a usb flash drive. hooked it in and set my capture to it. Only has 950MB but I didn't care if the program would take my memory from it because I can format the drive to bring back that memory.

To my surprise I noticed the program's timer is no longer going down but staying put. I did a minor capture and it seems the program bugs for me when it's being used to capture to the same HDD it was installed on. So I'm going to invest on an external HDD or a bigger flash drive so I can make youtube videos.

To my knowledge idk if the program will keep taking memory from my main HDD but I will respond to you the next day to keep you updated.

Edit: I also want to include that my sound is normal again so there was a great benefit in testing this

Basically yes that's why I said "Hopefully Roxio is fixing this problem."

I moved my Save To File to a flash drive and the timer is no longer going down and my space left on drive is also not going down unless I'm using the "Start Capture" feature.

To my findings the program cannot be used while it's Save To file is on the same HDD.

Yea it was pretty complicated to explain.

The program bugs and It will force itself closed because it won't be able to pick up the drive it's currently having saved files to. Hey I found a way to fix this and to me it looks like it works.

I'm still upset losing my HDD space and hope that Roxio is working out the problem but until than I'm staying with a seperate memory save to or new hard drive

I cannot tell if that is your opinion or the results from actaully testing the suggestion???

I don't work for Roxio so I cannot predict what they are working on... ^_^ (frankly I would doubt it, only a few people have seen it happening)

If it is putting data on your USB Drive, you can then see what the path is and should be able to find that file on your HDD and delete it. Wondering if Disc Cleanup will do the job <_<

I've done the testing already. I'm wondering if you even know what I'm talking about but than again you don't know what's going on in my situation even after i put all the info I can about it it still ends up people not knowing. Only a few people here happen to have this problem OR maybe all the people that use Roxio's Capture Card pro or normal. They could be losing HDD space like I was. I even said I would keep you updated on the situation if it works or not but I don't know if my account will still be running after this post. I've done the testing you can believe me or not on that one but hey what do I know I'm just one person trying to look for help and seems as though people don't want to know, don't want to listen, or just don't care about what this program is doing.

I explained everything I've done from the time I've had this to the time I've worked on this. The program has it's bugs yet no one seems to see it.

Why am I even posting this I'm explaining something to someone that doesn't even work for Roxio.

Alright so an update. The program is still taking HDD space. So just to let you know to get a second Hard drive that doesn't have a lot of memory but enough to install this into it so it can eat the memory from it and you won't have to worry about your main HDD.

Also Jim Harden Don't post anything on here because you don't need to explain anything. Knowing you don't even work for the Roxio company already tells me what you know.

To the people that are thinking about buying this or own this be careful when using this program to my knowledge Roxio doesn't know what's wrong and doesn't know how to resolve this issue because the Technical support hasn't heard anything about this.

You're posting to a users forum, not Roxio Tech Support. Who did you expect would reply to your posts?

Folks, who try to help others, in these forums, are users of the software, like you. Jim has helped many folks over the past 8 years or so. He was trying to help you, and you dissed him. You most likely did it out of frustration, but he certainly didn't deserve it.

Yea basically he did because he didn't know what was wrong and I highly doubt you do too. I understand the forums are a place to where users can help other users but if you try to suggest the person to do the same things over and over than where is it going to get the person. Why even post anything if you don't know what's going on? All the users here have problems but hey why the hell do people with the Digital Guru I don't even know if you read the posts.

And you're right I am frustrated because of bad programing, and lack of help Roxio has offered me. Also the fact I'm losing HDD space. I don't know who wouldn't be upset about that. I can only talk to Roxio through email and that takes forever I've gone through a whole week and only got 3 emails from them not know what is wrong. You want to help than figure out what's wrong or look for the problem on your own computer don't just assume that the numbers are false or just don't have anything to do with the usage of HDD space after installation. I apologize for my rudeness if that's what you're looking for but hey I'm a frustrated guy so don't judge me because I'm worried about my hardware is at risk.

Since I bought this off newegg.com I can't return it due to the authentication key. So my money is gone now.

Not a problem, you have been graduated to my Ignore Posts By: list

Just so you know:

Yes I fully understood what you claimed was happening...

I took it serious enough to send out some IM's to trusted sources that I know and asked them to look into it...

No One has reported back that this "problem" exists...

I
might be able to assist with a refund
(no promises) but you don't want any help...

So much for not helping... :( Best of luck!

I want the help but not having to do something I already done. And getting questioned about what I've done yea Jim your last post was the one that put me over the edge because you questioned me on what I was testing and I explained it full.

If you understood my issue maybe you would of been able to resolve it instead of saying It could be this or it could be this.

I was hoping to find someone that had this problem solved but seems I'm the only one that has the problem. So don't say you understand because you don't. I don't see you with the problem at all.

On one hand there's a bugged program, than again, there are people who probably found a way around and don't want to help, or there is something wrong and people haven't noticed it yet and claim it's nothing.

You're funny Jim. Your ignore list? pretty sure I'm not the only one there but hey what can I say I don't really care about what you have to say because you didn't help you just ran me around in circles.

You're best bet would be to contact Roxio directly.
