Burning In Red Book/cdda

jsmoil

Question

I've searched all over the place on Toast 11 Pro, but I'm unable to find the option for red book/cdda/cd-da, any of those really as they're all the same thing from what I'm told. I've just finished mixing and mastering my first album and am really to send it off to have it pressed, and I just wanted to make sure all the bases are covered. I'd really appreciate some info on how to burn for that. Thank you, Jon.

Toast will burn to the Red Book standards except there is no way to print out the PQ sheet. Toast lets you enter the ISRC codes and product code. When in the Audio CD window, click the More... button at the right side to open the window where you enter those mastering settings. Other important things are to burn the disc as DAO (Toast's default) and to burn at the slowest available speed. The available speeds can be selected after the blank disc is recognized. It used to be that 1x burning was available with some media and some drives but now it's hard to find media and drives supporting slower than 8x burning.

If printing the sheet is essential to your mastering lab then you need to use the discontinued Roxio Jam or Bias Peak. Your lab should have experience with Toast users and may have some advice.
