Distorted Preview Screen, Unable To Find Solution

Question

Hi guys,

After getting cut and paste answers with Coral's customer service, I hope you may have some insight in my problem with the distorted preview screen with the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro.

Initially, this wasn't a problem but after about two days of getting the product I noticed the flickering in the preview screen. It was almost like a mirror image was running in the background, here is a screenshot that I managed to get to somewhat show the problem.

I have reinstalled the software multiple times, changed the USB port I plugged the capture device in, changed the cables, exchanged for a new Gamecapture HD pro, have triple-checked my video/audio drivers, run the Razer Game Booster with the instructions in the sticky thread on the forum, and still no fix :(. The odd thing is that when I actually capture, the recorded output does not show flickering.

The only thing I have noticed is that I cannot get back to the dialog box I remember seeing where I could choose my TV type(NTSC, PAL, etc). I click on the Tools-> Options in the Capture Media Import and get a dialog box showing video bitrate and hotkey settings. When I click on the Options button next to the input device, I get the same exact dialog. Where could it have possibly gone?

Also does anyone know if the uninstall of the Roxio Game Capture still leaves behind a "profile" or "configuration" file? The prompts when I initially had the software installed no longer show up between fresh installs.

Thanks,

Ali

P.S - My system log is attached.

Judging from your log, your PC is MORE than capable enough to run the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro. If Razor game booster didn't work for you, then I would suggest running a virus scan. If that doesn't work, upgrade your graphics card driver and DirectX. I really wish Roxio had better software because this happens to me every now and then :(.
