Creator 2012 Stops Working

Jim B

Question

I am running Creator 2012 on a windows 7 64 bit machine. Video wave has suddenly started to shut down. I recorded some stuff from a TV program using my DVR. I captured the file to my computer and opened it with videowave, edited it, and saved it as a MPG file When I open that fie with videowave and try to make any edits to it, videowave stops working. This is a new problem. I shut everything down and restarted the computer but, that didn't help.

What's my next step?

Thanks. Jim B.

How do you capture it from your DVR??? (personal curiousity ;) - I use an HD Cap Card and a HDMI cable that Tarzan could swing from  )

Best Guess for your problem is to run a Proper Repair...

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Now insert your Roxio Disc (download version - run Install)

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Check for updates when you start the program.

That should do the trick...

My "DVR" actually records the stuff onto a DVD+RW disc.

Wouldn't using repair after Revo be more like stop leak after overhaul? :)

I ran a repair and still had the problem but it only seemed to occur on one particular MPG file. There are 4 others all generated the same way that don't cause the crash. Go figure...

BTW does this board have a spell checker and how do you turn it on? I have "check spelling" checked in the right click menu but it doen't seem to be working.

Glad to hear you got it solved!

It only take One Bit off in the right place to scramble a file up

It is fairly rare, often associated with multi tasking... Usually best to start a Render and walk away ;)

There isn't a Spell Check... One I use (Browser Specific add-in) is this one for Internet Explorer:
