HankS
Roxio Creator 2009 Special edition Installation DVD Program & Content I have CD KEY and TSID on DVD envlope When I try to open DVD and Video I get a Roxio Creator DE install window then it goes to another window that states "The feature your are trying to install is on a CD_ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insertthe Roxio Creator DE Disk and click OK." The Use Sourse window shows 1 When I click Browse the system shows me looking for RCPCORE.MSI as the default in the search. That file does not exist either on the Install Disk or my computer. If I click OK I get the message that "Path 1 cannot be found" and to try and find the RCPCORE.MSI file another way. I change the path to the drive where the DVD is and it still cannot find the msi file. So then I click on Cancel and I am thrown into a loop where Windows starts gathering information about my system, tries the install again and still cannot find the MSI file. The only way out of the loop is to cancel the windows initial install procedure several times, then the program starts. grandpabruce
Did you ever use this stripped down Dell edition of the software for video work? From what I see, in your post, it does not have any video editing programs.
sknis
Do you have DE or SE or both? The post is confusing ! Are you installing SE on a computer that already has DE? Please be clear.
HankS
Thanks for the replys. First, when I bought this system it had some roxio stuff on it - it was a long time ago. As I recall it wouldn't do videos so I bought the SE version adn installed it, again a long time ago. The one that runs, when I finally get the program to run DOES NOT appear to have video capabilities and it shows the DV in the help about screen. I DID NOT try to uninstall anything yet, but tried to re-install the SE. The SE starts to install then quits. I get a message that it has been interrupted and to try again later. for some history on this system - I had a real big problem with .NET upgrades from Microsoft about 1 1/2 years ago. I had to get MS support to access my machine and fix the problem. Then I had a security issue ( grandkids on machine) and had Norton access and fix. I watched both times but it went too fast for me. I do have the USB interface, but have not tried that since I thought it was for Analog to Digital, and I am trying to do digital now. I did get that to work with my VHS player a while back but haven't used it since.
