Roxio Game Capture Hd Pro - Preview Screen Flicker/flashing

MECHX07

Question

Hello everyone,

I purchased my Roxio Game Capture HD Pro about 2 months ago. Since I bought this device it has worked fine in capturing video. No lag, no audio issues, no freeze ups or crashes. All is fine except one very annoying and distracting problem. The preview screen will flicker/flash and is distorted. This happens both when capturing and not capturing but it is ONLY in the preview screen of the software. Not the actual capture.

If anyone has any information as to why this is happening and if there is a fix, that would be greatly appreciated.

Just so you know, I have looked all over the forums, on YouTube and contacted Roxio customer support without any success in finding a fix for this. I have checked the cables, uninstalled and re-installed the software, applied all updates, updated my audio and video drivers, tried the Razer Game Booster solution, and have run virus scanners. None of which has helped.

Also here are my PC specs in which I'm running the Roxio software on.

If your video drivers are up to date check 'Microsoft MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 3 (Microsoft XML Core Services)'

MECHX07, I take it your running two monitors?

Try using only one monitor.

The "preview" screen is not there for game play. It is only there to give you some idea of what is going on...

Of course it should not have flicker in the capture otherwise it is a non-issue...-

ok then i have that issue flicker issue on the preview screen, why is that happening

I realize the preview screen is not for "Game Play". That is obvious. The point is that it should be fixed and was reaching out to the community for potential help, not only for myself but to anyone else with this issue.

Thank you cdanteek, I appreciate the suggestion. Unfortunately I just tried installing 'Microsoft MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 3 (Microsoft XML Core Services)' and tried using the Roxio Game Capture with just one Monitor since I was using a duel screen setup and neither one solved the problem.

Possibly there is no clear cut answer to this problem and we just have to deal with it until Roxio gets with the program and addresses this with a software update.

If however I find a solution that works I will post here along with a video showing how its done.

So basically you suggest making sure all your Video Card settings are set to Default ;)

Good advice, certainly worth a try!

I pinned your other post to the top. Well see if it draws any comments and then lock it after a few days - Thanks for Tip!

Thank you! :)
