Creating An Encrypted, Spanned Archive

Moreno

Question

I need to make an archive of a project that is 243 GB in size and would prefer to keep the folder structure as in-tact as possible. I normally do this with our other archive sets by producing an archive spanned over multiple BD-R's. The problem with this project is that it was a government project and I need to keep it in an encrypted format. I tried having a go at making some test encrypted burns via Toast and these seem to create an encrypted .DMG within the burned disc but my tests did not allow me to utilise spanning for the set. Has anyone got any clever ideas???

Check out the Pro version of Get Backup. This is a $9.95 upgrade from the RE version bundled with Toast. BeLight (the developer) states that the Pro version supports encryption and the burning an archive to multiple discs. They don't mention Blu-ray media so you should contact the developer about that.

Retrospect may be the superior application. Their site has a device compatibility chart.
