Web Video Not Capturing - Another One

MatthewTamea

Question

Hi there

Apologies if this goes over old ground that other may have posted but I'm just getting confused as to whether people are having the same issue as me or not.

Basically Toast will no longer capture any web video (the main reason I bought it). I have captured LOADS of videos in the past but today I just get the panel where the videos normally appear in the media browser but no videos.

I have run an update but not sure if that's the cause - current version is 11.1

Have also seen people talking about the version of Flash - I have v11.5.502.136

Can anyone help?

Many thanks

Matt

I just checked. The first video I played on YouTube didn't capture but the one on Vimeo did. I went back to YouTube and tried a different video and it captured as well as the commercial that preceded it. Two of the three are .flv videos and one is mpeg 4.

The only troubleshooting step I can suggest is trashing the Toast plist and prefs files in your User>Library>Preferences folder. You may need to hold down the option key while selecting the Go menu in the Finder to access your user library.

Vimeo MP4

Flash Player is up to date on my Mac. There is a Flash Player panel in System Preferences. I see that it has an option to clear the storage of Flash settings that sites download to the Mac. I've never done anything with this but maybe it's time for me to clear those out. I recall a discussion awhile ago where Toast would not download a video it had previously downloaded even though the user had deleted the first one. Clearing this Flash storage might have fixed that issue.

ANOTHER ONE

Since TOAST 11 i can't get vidéo on the web ! !?????

any, nothing ?

I don't know why it isn't working for you. I can get some videos but seem to have trouble getting YouTube videos. Vimeo works well for me. I don't know what to suggest other than what you've found searching the forum.

I have the same issue not being able to capture youtube videos. It was working up to 2 or 3 weeks ago (someone mentioned Dec 12 2012 as the date his/hers stopped working). I can sometimes capture the advert at the beginning of the video, and sometimes I can capture the first 1.5 minutes of a video, but in most cases, the video does not even appear in the media box to download. I have reinstalled Roxio, fiddled with Safari and Firefox security settings, rebooted, and nothing.

Help?!?!?!?!?

John
