Creator 2012 Pro Failing To Open In Windows 7 64 Bit

JKQC

Question

I have upgraded my OS from Vista Business (32bit) to Window 7 (64bit). Clean install. All installations fine except for Creator 2012 Pro. The installation runs OK and completes. On clicking Icon to open program I receive message that "the program has stopped working" followed by close program. I have attempted re-installation (repair) cleaned registry and re-attempt. Outcome always the same. Can someone able to supply a solution?

Follow this first, http://corel.force.c...kA060000000L3eQ

then place the installation disc in a drive and choose repair when offered. Reboot the PC and follow the link to turn things back on.

After undertaking remedial actions as listed from "Digital Guru" without success (thanks for reply and recommendations)i8 found the following suggestion on searching windows 7 community on address http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/roxio-has-stopped-working-a-proplem-caused-the/c9c377f5-4cfd-4248-a890-5445ae436da0. Solution was submitted by BigDog972 which solved my problem as follows:

(Go to the %appdata% folder (which in my case is C:\Users\<username>\appdata\local\roxio) to find that I do not have any such folder. Instead I found a Rovi_Corporation folder that has a subfolder that starts with "RoxioCentralFx" and alot of other characters. Changed the Rovi_Corporation folder to Rovi_Corporation.OLD. Roxio Creator 2012 started up perfectly. Hope this helps someone from spending the countless hours I did trying to get Roxio Creator 2012 to startup without displaying "Roxio Creator has stopped working".
