BarryBGB
Digital Guru you are correct if you check preferences then it retains your new location but when you go to record, edit and save to begin a new recording then to to menu item preferences it has riverted back to the c:\users directory i want to set the preference and have it stick until i change it again manually, being a programmer i would expect this to be a saved preference until i modiffy it. I also have this problem. It is extremely frustrating to have a piece of software that is programmed this way. When I set a preference, I expect it to stay that way. I have searched the registry and have not found anywhere where this is located. If anyone finds the location, please let us know. I have found one spot but even changing this does not result in the location being permanent. "HKLU\Software\Roxio\VHS\VideoUI\Directories"
BarryBGB
There is no "HKLU".. Maybe you shouldn't be mucking around in your registry... First of all, it really doesn't help to be condenscending just because someone makes a typo. A correction to my typo would have been sufficient. I know exactly where it is located but merely typed it wrong. At least I am looking for a solution to the problem. I even added some additional String Values under "HKCU\Software\Roxio\VHS\Preference" with the directories and still it reverts back to the default. I am merely looking for someone with some idea as to where it can be fixed. Any HELPFUL suggestions would be appreciated.

sknis
It sounds like that ROXIO doesn't like to fix problem that are found with their programs. Looks like I should look around for a Program that works the way it should. Oh well, I'll just return it and get my money back, Me Rich and I'm POOR With only two people complaining about the issue in over six months (or more), no one would classify it as high priority for redesign. Poor, good luck! There are other programs out there but the Roxio capture device may not work with them. They may have other problems or limitations. I don't know, I haven't tried them or the capture device that comes with them. Better hurry, you have 30 days to return it if you bought it on line. If you bought it at a commercial store and you tell them why you are returning it, they may not agree that it is defective. (Be ready for a chuckle or two.) Bib, since you are a programmer, surely you can create a work around.

Jim_Hardin
I have now and you are correct. You can change the text But it has NO Effect on the Program... You can contact Roxio about it but I doubt it will get fixed
