I have set up everything correctly; hdmi going from roxio to tv, hdmi going to xbox to roxio and USB plugged in correctly. I've tried different cables, different ports, changing the Xbox resolution and even tried it on my PC but still no luck. I get a "No Signal" message on the GameCap recording software and also I'm unable to view my xbox on my TV. I even see the driver "Roxio GameCap HD Pro" when plugged in so that's fine. I'm not sure why this is happening at all and this is the main problem. I also encountered something else similarly related.
So the first day I got it I was eager to try it out. My current setup is a monitor and a splitter which has my PC and Xbox running through that so I can easily switch between viewing the Xbox and PC on my monitor. I installed the CD, connected all the wires (first with the splitter, I plugged one of the HDMI from the roxio into a spare input slot on the splitter) and I turned on my xbox and I got no display on my monitor but when I switched to the PC (where the USB was plugged in) I saw the recording software said "ready" and I saw my xbox! But I wasn't able to play because I couldn't see my xbox. So I decided to change that and do it directly. I plugged in everything again this time without the splitter (so monitor > roxio > xbox and USB into PC). This time, I still got no display and, obviously since my PC wasn't plugged in I couldn't see if the recording software had shown signal. But its ok, I had one more idea. This time I brought a laptop in, and did the same thing except plug the USB into my laptop, not my PC, So I could view the recording software (I had installed it on the laptop too). But, of course, still no signal OR display.
I eventually got bored of this and decided to fix it later so I re-plugged in my old set up with my xbox and pc into the splitter with an output to my monitor and decided to play some xbox. Except now my xbox didn't show any display. I believed the roxio has screwed up some settings on my monitor so now I couldn't play xbox on my monitor until I fixed it (I even tried direct, without the splitter but still didnt work). So I tried my xbox on a TV instead but it still didn't work. I had one more TV downstairs so I tried it and to my amazement it worked! So then I thought, if it's working I can try to set up the recorder and that's when the first part of this post comes in how I tried to set it all up but it didn't work.
Ultimately I want to be able to make it work with the monitor but first I have to figure out why I'm getting No signal, or no display/preview on my tv.
