Will Not Recognize Any Vhs Players!

bkochjr

Question

I recently purchased this product in order to transfer our home movies to our computer. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to get the program to recognize any video streams. I've done the process ad nauseum and still no dice. I've used two different VHS player, three different cords, multiple VHS tapes (including the newest one I have as a test) as well as multiple USB ports on my computer. NOTHING works.

No, I did not hook this up prior to the software instillation.

Can anyone help or should I just get my money back?

It works fine when hooked up to any TV set and I'm not using S-Video. I'm using RCA Composite

1) Please update the video drivers from the AMD web site (here) . Yours are over a year old. Please double check that I have selected the right one.

2) Make sure the USB device is plugged into a USB port on the back of your computer. Those on the front or on a hub are not good enough.

3) Check Dell for any other updates.

I actually disconnected it so I could have a USB port in the back of my computer. Is there something else I need to do as well?

Your pic in post # 3 shows the web cam driver showing, right click it and click disable. To re-enable it right click on it and click enable.

Do you hear a system sound and see the two Roxio drivers show up in device manager when you plug the USB in? And when you unplug the device do you hear a sound and the two Roxio drivers disappear in device manager? Does the Roxio USB Device feel warm after its been plugged in for a while?

Any way to try it at a friend's computer? It sounds like there might be a bad USB device.

Your drivers are not up to date; I looked unless you updated them AFTER I posted the link. I image that you knew the blu text were links. didn't you?

I did all of these steps and it still doesn't recognize my VHS players. The AMD site said my drivers were up to date and the Dell updates had two urgent updates which were bluetooth updates. Those were installed, I restarted the computer and also used a back USB input to no avail.
