Video Lags And Not Accepted When In Editer

Question

Hello, i used my roxio the day after i got it and it worked really well no issues, i edited the clip and render it using sony software, when i went back on to the roxio capture software the video is all choppy in the preview. I was hopeful that this was just a bad preview so i recorded some gameplay and decided to use the video editing software that comes with the roxio only to find when i hit the play button it says 'the current production is empty or contains invalid files.'

Also when i livestream (in 240p) there is no lag! so you would think it was my computer but it is strange that i could record in hd before.

My computer specs: dell inspiron 15r laptop switch

intel i3 2310m 2.10ghz

4gb ram

hard drive 5400rpm : 519gb free of 581gb

graphics card inbuilt with processor?

any help to stop the lag would be much appreciated, thanks

You are really scratching on the bottom rung of the ladder  Actually below it for HD Capture!

The only PLUS you list is your Free Space on your slow HDD... (5400 rpm will always be a bottleneck)

Make Sure your Video Chip Driver and Software are the latest!

Do not multitask, anything!

You cannot use the lap for Capture and Play, even PC's can't do that due to the lag... You need a separate TV or Monitor for Play.

Reboot before you try to capture.

Give that a try and let us know how it works for you. Always interest is squeezing the max out of the minimum ;)

thanks very much for your reply, i have done everything but still problems, i have also cleaned up my computer unistalling programs etc. i am thinking of doing a system restore as i can put my wanted stuff on a usb stick. Do you think this would increase speed and possibly make it work? if not i guess i am buying a new pc?
