When i disconnect from the usb it disappears from other devices. i keep getting a message saying that the driver didn't install and a code 43. When trying to update drivers it tells me that the driver installed is the most up to date but when i open up driver details it tells me that no drivers have been installed, AAGGGHHHH!!!! With the USB Device plugged in right click the entry under other devices and click uninstall click ok if needed to finish.

It disappears from device manager.

Now unplug the USB device from the PC and don't pug it back in until I tell you to.

Reboot the PC, place the installation disc in a drive and when it starts the installation disc choose repair, when repair is finished, reboot the PC.

When the PC is up and running open device manager and plugin the USB Device does it now show the drivers under Sound Video and Game Controllers.

Tried the suggestions in the link but once again i get the same messages. Never get the device showing under the Sound, Video and Game Controllers tab always the USB Controllers

How many USB ports do you have?

Have you tried every other available USB port?

Try one you know works.

Is this a laptop?

Are your power setting such that they shut down USB ports?

I can't reach over and fix it for you!

I am using a laptop but only 1 of the 3 usb ports works. i finally got the game capture drivers to install after i opened the software, selected Help the Check for Updates. After i rebooted the drivers installed no problem and i was able to capture some footage. Unfortunately after shutting down the laptop and disconnecting from the usb port it is now failing to recgonise the usb device again.
