Purple/blank Screen

Chidgeey

Question

I recently bought a new laptop and now when i try to record with my game capture HD, my preview screen is a blank purple screen. It still manages to record but I just cant see what im recording at the time.

My laptop runs windows 8 and has high enough specs with a intel i5 processor, 6gb RAM and 1Tb hard drive. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or is having the same problem?

I don't think it's an aero problem since Microsoft did away with aero in Windows 8. I'm having the same issue on the one computer I actually want to use to capture video. (It works fine on two others, one of which is an old notebook that shouldn't even be capable of running it according to Roxio's minimum requirements.) It's capturing fine, but showing up as a purple screen inside the capture window, which makes it all but impossible to work with. I have a PS3, I'm running Windows 8 and everything is set up correctly, hence it's capturing fine. I just can't see what it's capturing. I have noticed that if I set up my PS3 to only run at 480, I can see what it's capturing.

I found my solution at this thread: http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/84237-ps3-black-preview-screen/

Basically, I disabled the Intel display adapter and the purple screen went away. Bit of a pain that we have to do this. My first (and likely last) experience with Roxio is that once they get your money, they are done with you. I find their software flaky and unreliable. If there was another program to capture the video with the Roxio capture card, I'd switch today.

Samething for me , purple screen .

Impossible to work with.

The truth is , the Roxio Game Capture HD Pro ..

Isn't compatible with anything past Windows 7.

The next update of the software should help Windows 8 users :D
