Lp Conversion

tjjersey

Question

I have been looking at LP conversion programs and it looks like the NXT can do that. What I would like to know is if I am pulling a file from the turn table and there are let say 5 tracks on one side. Will your program automatically separate those tracks as a separate files or how does it handle it. Secondly is there a way to automatically download the CD tags for the album or songs you now have extracted into separate songs?

Oops, I think Walt may have thought that you have the program. Perhaps this will help (link) ( I hope the link works since I reached it from the program)

Do you have a standard turntable where you would plug the turntable into your audio card or do you have a USB output turntable. The program has problems with some USB turntables.

1) The program does allow you to capture individual cuts or one file. The automatic cuts is based on having silence between cuts so the LP and the turntable have to be in good shape. I prefer to capture as one long wav file; pausing the program when I turn over the LP. Once I capture the LP or several LP, I go back and make the cuts where I want them. I can trim out leading and ending noise if I have any and the pause where I turned over the LP.

2) The program does use a automatic ID feature that will name the individual cuts if: 1) The LP is in the data base 2) If it can find the close match; if not, it may give you garbage or may give you multiple choices.

Why would you buy Creator NXT to do audio? It is a suite of programs including a set of video editing application. Unless you get it cheap, you may be buying something that you would use only 20% of the features. If you really want it audio part, you may want to look at an older version; the audio applications are pretty much the same.

You might be better off looking at this (link) I think the capture and edit parts are pretty close to what is in Creator NXT.

I sent you a p.m. go to the top right of the screen and select the envelope icon to read it.

I really appreciate the help both sknis and digital guru were a great help thanks. I was thinking about the NXT Pro Because it has paint shop pro in it as well which leads to another question. I know paintshop pro 5 is out, but is this version of paintshop pro 4 the whole version or a cut down version?

Depending on the condition of your LPs, you may want more/other digital "cleaning tools." I have several other utilities that I've purchased over the years, each has different strengths and weaknesses. If you have pristine albums, with only some noise, clicks, pops, etc. then you may not need anything other than what comes with the Creator Suite. As has been suggested above, I also like to do my own cuts between tracks, rather than rely on anything automated.

Just another 2 cents.
