Mac Mini Ppc And Watching Mkv Files

Hi there, I am not very technical. But I bought a Mac Mini PPC G4 as use it as a media centre. I got given some MKV files. I dont need to convert them, I just wanted to watch them on the computer.

 

Does Toast 10 support MKV files (to watch)? I have toast 11 on my macbook and it does it fine, but I didnt see whether Toast 10 does it.

 

Also, Would Toast 10 also work on my Mac Mini. Its not an intel based machine and not much other software works on it. Was just wondering whether I am wasting my time here.

I believe the problem you're going to have is the graphics processor on the mini won't support playing the video. It will be jerky at best. Is there a version of VLC that works with the G4?

 

The minimum system requirements for Toast 10 says it works with G4 Macs running OS 10.5.x.
