Hdmi Not Working Please Help

My girlfriend ordered the Roxio Game Capture PRO HD device as a gift for me this holiday season. I was able to use it successfully to capture my XBOX 360 device, however now I'm attempting to use it with my PC video card. I have this video card here:

It has a mini-HDMI output, so I purchased a Mini-HDMI -> Regular HDMI cable. I've already confirmed that I have a working video signal by using the cable I purchased and plugging it directly into my monitor. The signal is received no problem.

 

So, I used the cable I purchased and plugged it into the Roxio Game Capture Pro device

• Mini HDMI -> Regular HDMI Cable goes into my Roxio Game Capture Pro Video HDMI Input
  
• Used a regular HDMI cable from the Roxio GCP HDMI Output and plugged the other end into my monitor
  
• Plugged the Roxio GCP device into my PC via USB
  

 

When I start up the program and select Input HDMI, I am getting Status: No Signal

 

This makes no sense to me as I clearly have a working signal coming from my video card when I plug it normally into my monitor. What is the problem here? Did I get a faulty device?

I tried this with mine and got the same results... HDMI from PC to RGC thence HDMI from RGC to one PC Monitor...

 

No Signal was listed on both the Monitor as well as the RGC Software

 

I added an active HDMI Splitter into the mix, input from the PC and outputs to the RGC Device as well as the PC Monitor but same results...

 

I am guessing that there is something about the Video Card signal that is not compatible with the device.

 

I did attach an HDMI to the RGC Device from a DVD Player and it worked!!! The RGC Software was happy and the output from the RGC Device to my second Monitor was full screen DVD play

 

I guess this is just one of these things about the RGC that defy any logic

Update on this issue:

 

I've successfully managed to confirm that my Roxio device is working properly. I can successfully receive a signal from my X-Box and PS3 using HDMI.

 

However, I've been unsuccessful in aquiring a signal from the HDMI output on my PC video card. Here is my video card:

I've confirmed that there is a working signal when using my HDMI-mini output on the back of the card, and plugging it straight into my monitor. The video card is working as intended and the HDMI output is delivering a signal to my monitor with no issue.

 

So I attempted to do the following to acquire a PC signal on my Roxio device.

- I used the HDMI-mini output on my video card and connected to the input on the Roxio Device.

- I used the DVI output and connected to my PC monitor.

- A signal is achieved on the monitor.

- No signal is achieved on the Roxio game capture device.

 

I've also attempted to set up multiple displays on my PC, and duplicating the desktop to get a signal. This doesn't necessarily work and seems complicated for me to explain. The bottom line is that I'm unable to acquire a PC signal from the HDMI-mini output on my video card, even though I'm 100% positive that the HDMI-mini output is in fact delivering a working signal to my PC monitor.

 

What could be the reasons why the Roxio Game Capture PRO device is unable to receive the signal when it is in fact working properly? I understand that PS3 requires a component connection due to HDCP. Is this also the case with Nvidia technology?

Do you have a friend or family member with better PC skills you could have them read this post and assist you?

O.K. well, I appreciate the help in this thread but I still haven't resolved my issue.

 

After many unsuccessful re-installations I still have the "Unknown Device" issue, and I still have the issue in which my Roxio device is not picking up a signal from my video-card's mini-HDMI output.

 

It is not the cable. When I plug the HDMI cable directly from my video card into my monitor, I get a working signal.

When I plug the cable into my Roxio device, and plug another HDMI cable from the Roxio output, into my monitor, I get no signal in either the Roxio software or my monitor.

I've tried several other USB ports and the same issue persists.

 

I have a few questions:

 

1- What devices are supposed to be in the Device manager? If I have one Unknown Device, and one Roxio GameCAP HD PRO, what is the Unknown Device supposed to be? I've seen people using the original Roxio GameCAP (Non HD version) and it shows TWO devices in the device manager.

2- I have 3 outputs on my video card. Two DVI outputs and one mini-HDMI output. Can these outputs be used together, or if one is being used does this disable the other outputs?

3- I'm curious if I have to set up a second display in my NVIDIA settings in order for the signal to be picked up properly.

4- Is there anything you could possibly think of as to why the device is not properly picking up my video-cards HDMI output signal, when it properly picks up my XBOX's HDMI output signal? I understand this device was made for consoles, but was under the impression it also worked for PC. Could this have anything to do with my PC hardware?

 

I am going to attempt to pick up component cables today so I can test those connections, rather than HDMI. I am going to pick up DVI -> Component cables and see how my luck fares. Thank you again.

If the problem involves your laptop screen glitching and fuzzy around, the only workaround i actually did is left click and drag the entire program to the right and magically it stops, now frankly Im sure this has to do with the embedded graphic chipsets in laptops that you really cant do much with other than hoping a update might fix.

 

I dont think the unknown device might have to do with the roxio unless that it's two devices put together as i didnt remember havign seperate folders...I DO REMEMBER that if you end up uninstalling the device, as well as accepting the option to delete the memory drive files, it will unable to reinstall the roxio at all, unless you uninstall the entire program and do it over from scratch.

I have the exact same problem as you regarding the preview window and the blue screen issues. I have no idea how to solve it, all i get is a blue screened tv when the device is plugged in and when i start the roxio application it changes prom YPbPr to HDMI then the tv screen

flashes as well as the problem you are having with the screen. Plus i get no signal. I have reintalled and repaired the program so many

times but it does not seem to do any good. I really need help on this :/

I also tried to uninstall it completely using Revo Uninstaller, and a fresh reinstall with multiple restarts. Still it has the Unknown device.

Actually after uninstalling that unknown device, and than plugging back in my Roxio... I got a message "failed to install drivers" from Windows and the device showed back up in my device manager. So yea, that is my RoxIo device. I'm confused as to why this is happening, I followed the steps to install the device as carefully as I could so I'm not sure why the drivers would be messed up. Any advice?

 

With the RGC USB Device plugged in right click the entry in sound video and game controllers along with other devices and click uninstall.

 

Remove the RGC USB Device and reboot the pc, when the PC is booted up insert the RGC Disc in a drive and run repair when the installer offers it. Reboot the PC open device manager and plugin th RGC USB Device and tell me what entries appear?

Looks like some other USB Device to me?

 

I would right click and uninstall it, unless you have a idea what it's for?

 

See if anything changes?

I've been reading around and I can't seem to figure out what's wrong.

 

Facts about my situation:

• The device works with HDMI perfectly when using the XBOX 360 Console
  
• I am receiving a working HDMI Output signal when I plug my video card directly into my PC monitor
  
• I am receiving a RED No Signal when I attempt to put the signal through the device instead of directly into my monitor
  

I reinstalled the software on my PC 3 times, and restarted 3 times. It's still not capturing the HDMI signal from my video card when the software is up.

 

This is what I see when I start up the software:

 

 

I checked my Device manager, and this is what I see in there:

 

 

I can't be sure what the problem is. Is the software not installing drivers correctly? Could it be the signal coming from my video card? If worst comes to worst I can probably attempt to use component rather than HDMI for my PC connection, but I was hoping to get this working with HDMI.

 

I've tried to provide as much detail as possible please let me know what you guys think.
