beebo
Are you talking about the software and drivers? If so, you could probably download them from Roxio's support site. Maybe. If you are able to do so, you might consider "Saving" those software and drivers files to a folder, and saving that folder. In case you need them again. Then you cn open the folder and "Run" them. Now days, a lot of hardware comes with the drivers. In that case, all you would need to do is plug it in. Are you using Vista or 7? But I'm pretty sure you would be able to download the software from the website. If you have another PC with a working drive, you might be able to rip the disc contents and transfer the software to your laptop via a thumbdrive or ext drive. If not, you may have to invest in an external DVD drive. I hope I understood your question.

What do you mean your disc tray does not read discs? Is it broken? If yes then replace it after all what good is the laptop without a disc drive. d_deweywright
Also, I'd ask you to post your laptop's specifications, processor type/speed, memory, OS version... just so we can make sure your laptop meets the minimum requirements for running the capture application. A broken drive makes me suspect an older laptop that may not be able to keep up.
Jentzi
The Latptop isn't too old, it's running on AMD triple core processor at 2.4 ghz. 6 gb of memory. I'm pretty sure it'll get the job done, the disc tray just doesn't read discs anymore for some odd reason. I just got the capture card today, so I'll try and see if the hardware has the drivers in it.

You have supplied no information at all except saying "doesn't work". It could be hardware or software but we can't tell anything from your posted information. d_deweywright
And you NEED to be able to read the disc for the capture software and drivers. Do not connect the hardware before installing the drivers.

You can't install the program to a USB on a friends computer and then expect to drag&drop from the USB stick to your own computer and expect the program to run What you can do perhaps via a friends computer is to copy the disc files to the USB stick, take the USB stick back to your computer, copy the USB stick to your computer and install from there.
